Our 74th Annual Rodeo
will be held on Memorial Weekend 2026.
We want to extend our gratitude and appreciation to Pete and Barb Thiry for their tireless dedication to the Last Stand Rodeo in some form or another for the past 48 years.
"It has been my honor and privilege to guide this organization through the years. I am deeply gratified by, and proud of, the progress we have made together. For many years, we have produced a first-class PRCA rodeo in a town of just about 600 residents and have earned recognition and respect throughout the rodeo community." - Pete Thiry
Pete served as the Last Stand Rodeo Association President
for nearly 26 years. Barb has been his right hand and is also stepping back from her roles as Secretary and head of our Cook Shack. Both have made enormous impacts to the rodeo and our community. We hope that they're able to enjoy everything they love about rodeo and life in general in this next chapter of their lives.
Taylor McDonald has been elected to the role of Rodeo Association President, and we know he is going to work hard to continue traditions and grow in new ways to keep the Last Stand Rodeo happening on our Memorial Day Weekends for many years to come.
"I am honored to be taking the reigns as the new president of the Coulee City Last Stand Rodeo. Pete and I have worked hand and hand for the last 4 year to prepare me for this role. Pete is still going to be very much involved the coming years to help me with the behind-the-scenes responsibilities of the rodeo and fundraising auction. I am looking forward to taking over the responsibilities of President of this rodeo that has such a deep tradition in our small community. "
- Taylor McDonald
Taylor and his family have been a part of rodeo themselves for as long as they can remember. His love of rodeo and the support of his family and our volunteers will both contribute to his certain success in this new role.
Tickets will be for sale online in the coming weeks. We hope to see you there!
If you or your organization has a donation for this year's silent or live auctions, please reach out to us by email laststandrodeo@gmail.com and we will get back to you!

Eryne is the 19-year-old daughter of William Anderson and Mindi Benson. Rodeo has played a big part in her life since she was just a little girl. Eryne enjoys competing in barrels, poles, pushing cattle, and trail riding. In 2023, she carried the Title of Miss Rodeo Tonasket. Her most proud accomplishment has been representing her hometown through the 2024 season as Miss Omak Stampede. During the 2024 Columbia River Circuit Finals Eryne competed and won first runner up for the Miss Columbia River Circuit Title. In late November, Eryne competed and won Knowledge, Horsemanship, Speech, and the Miss Coulee City Last Stand Rodeo Title. Being a rodeo queen has taught Eryne the importance of horsemanship, strong work ethic, and the ability to connect with others to help promote and preserve our rich rodeo heritage. Eryne is very grateful for every opportunity she has had to represent our sport, and can’t wait to represent the Coulee City Last Stand Rodeo throughout 2025!
We are honored to have Will Rasmussen as our Rodeo Announcer again this year! He has been a part of our rodeo for many years and he is truly one of the very best out there! Listen to Will's weekly podcast Rodeo Roadshow - click on his picture for more info!
